About the Teacher
My name is Emily Hagen and I love teaching preschool! I'm passionate about working with kids and look forward to getting to know your student and giving them a solid foundation for their school years.
I have a degree from BYU in Marriage, Family, and Human Development with an emphasis on Child and Infant Development. I have experience working in daycare, as a nanny, with my own four children (two diagnosed with autism), and teaching primary kids in the 3-5 year old age range at my church.
Teaching Philosophy
Learn
Students will prepare for kindergarten by learning letter recognition and sounds, number recognition, counting, colors, shapes, and learning about their world through books, activities, music, and art.
Play
I believe kids learn important social skills through free play, including toys, games, and physical activity. This is where they establish the foundations of sharing and interpersonal relationships.
Grow
Growing and developing fine motor skills is essential during the preschool years. Students will learn how to properly grip writing utensils and hold/utilize scissors to strengthen and develop these fine motor skills.
